Cheryl Watterson is President and Founder of Personal Security Solutions which launched in March of 2004. The site consists of discussions, articles, safety and security tips, and ways that women and men can prevent a violent crime from happening to them. Personal security starts at home so there is valuable information on home security protection, articles, and products to help keep your home and family safe and secure.

PSS offers a vast array of excellent personal protection devices to help you defend yourself against an attacker. These non-lethal devices are meant to throw off an attacker long enough so you can get away to safety. Our security blog contains videos that will help to educate and show you ways to protect yourself, keep you updated and informed about various security topics, and depict real life safety issues.

Although the site includes protection information for men as well as women, we realize women are typically the target of most assault and physical attack type of crimes. Therefore, most of the information is geared toward women, but men can obviously be victims of crime as well. Ultimately, it’s about how we all can stay safe from people who want to do us harm.

Our passion is to help women find the best solution to surviving a violent attack or assault - whether it be mental preparation and safety training or self-defense techniques along with using personal protection devices to ward off a vicious attack, abduction, sexual assault, rape, or even murder.

Whenever I hear the daily barrage of young women who have been assaulted and murdered, I cringe. And my heart goes out to those parents. However, by becoming proactive about our own personal security and safety, we can become more aware of our surroundings, develop a safety plan of action, and become empowered to take immediate action to defend ourselves should we be attacked.

By learning about and obtaining top quality personal protection devices such as the Taser C2 or the Mace spray gun, we can feel safer knowing we have options to defend ourselves. Being properly trained in using these protection devices is vitally important. Keep in mind – being mentally prepared with awareness training and carrying a personal protection product can give you the confidence and empowerment you need but hopefully will never have to use.

Personal Security Solutions’ mission is to encourage and empower women of all ages to take charge of their personal protection and security through self-defense education and training, personal safety awareness programs, and personal protection options. Through our programs and associations with women’s organizations, we will establish Personal Security Solutions as the leader in helping to reduce and prevent violent crimes against women. We will provide women with the necessary tools to prevent violent crimes against them and to be empowered with the knowledge, awareness, and confidence to defend themselves in any violent situation.
